Hello,
The Reporters’ Collective is delighted to announce the inaugural ‘TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship’. It is an opportunity to produce top-grade investigative work in English.
We are a collective of like-minded journalists recognised for our deep, original and time-intensive reporting, which often requires scouring thousands of public records and spending months digging for information. Our work has won recognition in India and internationally. Since 2019, we’ve published 79 investigations on a wide range of issues. We have investigated corruption in governments and conglomerates, political malfeasance meddling in our economy, technology’s damaging impact on democracy, pandemic deaths and beyond.
Our inaugural fellowship will be awarded to candidate(s) with at least two years of reporting experience to tackle the ambitious investigative project they propose. Applications will be accepted till January 31, 2024.
We invite proposals by journalists from across the country to share their story ideas aligning with the following themes:
- India’s Political Economy
- Environment and Climate Change
- Technology and Digital Security
- Governance and Accountability
- Public Health and Policies.
We're also open to unique and compelling ideas beyond these themes.
The chosen candidate will receive a grant of Rs. 80,000 for the story (inclusive of any taxes).
The fellowship period is from 1 March 2024 - 31 May 2024. The applicants have to submit a tentative work plan, outlining the key milestones and deadlines for their investigative project.
