Every year, millions of young Indians appear in different eligibility exams, hoping to secure a government job. From the physical strain of filling out forms to the financial burden and the challenges of sitting for exams in different centres across the country, each attempt incurs significant costs.
In our latest investigation, the winner of our inaugural TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship, Suchak Patel, uncovers the delays that cripple the rollout of the National Recruitment Agency, a critical issue affecting millions of unemployed young Indians. He uncovers a maze of bureaucratic inefficiencies, missed deadlines, and unfulfilled promises that have left job seekers in limbo.
Despite grand announcements, the NRA has yet to conduct a single exam. Add to this the woes of rampant paper leaks and exam cancellations which continue to plague the current recruitment process, exacerbating the stress and uncertainty for young aspirants.
